QuizCraft / AI quiz generator

AI quiz generator

Paste a reading passage, your lesson notes or just a topic. The generator drafts multiple-choice, true/false and short-answer questions with an answer key, and you check and edit every one before students see it.

Getting good questions out of an AI quiz generator

AI question generators are fast at drafting and poor at knowing what your class actually covered. Treat the output as a first draft:

  • Give it your own source. Questions written from a pasted passage stay inside what students read. A bare topic lets the model pull in facts you never taught.
  • Check every key. Models occasionally mark the wrong option correct or write two defensible answers. Read each question as a student would.
  • Watch the distractors. The best wrong answers are real misconceptions. If an option is obviously silly, replace it with a mistake you've seen students make.
  • Mix in higher-order items. Generators lean towards recall. Add one or two "why" or "what would happen if" questions of your own.
  • Run item analysis afterwards. Once the class has taken it, item analysis shows which generated questions really worked.

What happens to your text

When you press Generate, the text box contents are sent to a language model through Vercel AI Gateway and the questions stream back. QuizCraft keeps no copy. Avoid pasting student names or other personal information.

Questions teachers ask

Is the AI quiz generator free?
Yes, with a fair-use limit of a few generations every ten minutes per person so the service stays free for everyone.
Can it make questions from a PDF or a web page?
Copy the text from the PDF or page and paste it in (up to 6,000 characters, roughly two to three pages). Questions will stay close to that text.
Are the answers always right?
No generator is perfect. Every draft shows its key so you can check it, and nothing reaches students until you have edited it in the quiz maker and shared the link.
Which question types can it write?
Multiple choice with four options, true/false statements and short-answer questions with one-to-three-word answers. All three auto-grade in QuizCraft.
