What stays in your browser

QuizCraft uses your browser's local storage to keep your current quiz draft, the quizzes you have shared, the result codes you pasted in, the last classroom-timer duration and, on a student's device, the name they typed so they don't retype it next time. This data never leaves the device unless you download a backup or share a link.

Quiz links and result codes

A quiz link contains the whole quiz, including the answer key, compressed into the part after #. Browsers do not send that part to our server. A result code contains the student's typed name, answers, score and time taken. Only the people you share links or codes with can see them.

AI quiz generator

If you use the AI quiz generator, the text you paste is sent, only when you press Generate, to a language model through Vercel AI Gateway to write the questions. QuizCraft does not store it. Please don't paste student names or other personal data.

Analytics and hosting

We use Ahrefs Web Analytics, a cookieless tool, to count page visits in aggregate. The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and request time) for security and operations.

Children

Students do not create accounts and are not asked for anything except a name for their teacher. Teachers should follow their school's policy on what name students use.
